This is difficult child's first year of baseball - really hasn't had the opportunity to pick up a bat and ball much until this Summer. Tonight his team had an awesome inning of 15 runs. One boy had a home run and another had a Grand Slam (difficult child was on a base for that). Usually difficult child is pitcher during the first 3 innings when the pitching machine is used and then either Right or Center Field the last 3 when the boys pitch. Tonight difficult child was put on the pitching mound at the bottom of the 6th inning. I was nervous because although he has a good form, he still needs to work on getting the ball over the base. He struck out two players and when a third hit a grounder to him, he picked it up and threw it to 1st for the 3rd out closing the game. We are so excited!!! Too bad husband wasn't in town to watch. I don't remember which hotel he was at tonight and we don't have long distance so difficult child couldn't call him. Fortunately, as we arrived home, husband called to see how the game went so difficult child was able to tell him.
