I agree. It's why I don't think, once we have no more pets, I won't want to get another. I always said next time just one...but I don't know if I even want that. If we had a house with a fenced yard and a doggie door and the ability to just leave them...maybe. Or perhaps just a cat? But selfish as it may sound, I'm tired of having the care of a creature that is so dependent. I just want it to be US and the ability to go when we want. We can't even just say, "pick me up after work and we'll do dinner out." We have to go home first and take care of them. To say "Let's go away for the holidays" takes entirely too much planning with pets. Heck, I was just asked if I wanted to go to lunch with a former co-worker who is in town for the day and I can't even manage that because I have to go home for the dogs! :( Sorry SWOT, I didn't mean to hijack your thread. Was it Heifer International? That is a WONDERFUL charity! In case anyone doesn't know what that is, you buy animals that are given to people in underprivileged countries and they use them for food and income. Milk from cows and goats, eggs from chickens, etc. Heifer International | Charity Ending Hunger And Poverty
