While there are many hereditary factors that cannot be changed with environment, nuturing cartainly does impact how the child will handle those factors in his life. I truly believe that my difficult child has the best chance to be successful because she was adopted. Her basic personality and inherited traits have caused tremendous baggage and hardship in her life, but she has overcome many obstacles too, which her bm has not. We have been told many times by many professionals that when thinbgs are the darkest and when we are th emost hopeless we should consider where she would be if we had not adopted her.
