Both checks arrived yesterday in the mail. One is identified as "SSI For December" and was issued from Kansas City, Mo and the other doesn't have id but it is issued from Philadelphia, Pa. I'm sure the second is SSDI. I do remember clearly that upon application years ago the Rep was surprised that at age 18 he had enough recorded quarters to qualify. I was even more surprised because it sure seemed to me like all he did was drink and smoke prior to the brain surgery, lol. In adition to the two checks he also is covered by Medicare and covered by Medicaid. The representative commented on how lucky he was to qualify for both. So he has full medical coverage including prescriptions. As I wrote earlier it seems that everything fluctuates and I don't "get it". His two checks this month total up to less than $800 and no letter of explanation has ever come about this reduction...but a local rep did tell me verbally to expect it "and you'll get a letter". Yesterday four letters came about food stamps. The first said "$29 a month", the second said "reduced to $27 a month", the third said "$171" and the last envelope said starting Jan "$200". AND the health insurance coverage (which came with big insurance book, card, instructions etc. two months ago) is going to change to a different coverage as of January. I'm telling you guys this is beyond my expectations of labor intensive. I hope 2013 brings stability...for all of us. DDD
