Making your own BBQ sauce is pretty easy, but usually I just buy my own. This is a basic recipe 1 medication onion chopped 2 tbsp butter 1/2 c ketchup 1/4 c water 2 tbsp vinegar 1 tbsp light brown sugar 1 tsp prepared mustard Salt and pepper to taste Saute the onion in butter until tender. Add ketchup, water, vinegar, brown sugar, mustard, salt, pepper. Bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer about 10 minutes. You can add to this recipe any flavors you like - garlic, chili, substitute wine or bourbon or beer for the water, some Louisiana hot sauce. The Cajun sauce you had would have been good as an add to this recipe, about 1/2 cup or so.
