I'm rudely awakened in the morning by Jewel. I HAVE TO GO OUT! I HAVE TO GO OUT! I HAVE TO GO OUT! I'M GOING TO DIE! I'M GOING TO DIE! I HAVE TO GO OUT! NOW! NOW! NOW! Then Buster joins in. He's not sure why he has to go out, but if Jewel has to go out then he must have to go out, too. 'I HAVE TO GO OUT, TOO! WAKE UP! WAKE UP! *lick lick lick* *pounce on the belly* I HAVE TO GO OUT, TOO! I DON'T KNOW WHY, BUT I HAVE TO GO OUT, TOO! WAKE UP! WAKE UP! WAKE UP!' So, I stumble out of bed - can't even focus my eyes - and take them out. They just stand there. Sniff the air. Look around. Sniff the air some more. After a couple of minutes, I'm going back in. Ask them if they want to come. They just look at me. I get inside, take off my sweater and my shoes and sit down to go potty. 'I HAVE TO COME IN! I HAVE TO COME IN! I HAVE TO COME IN! I'M GOING TO DIE! I HAVE TO COME IN! NOW! NOW! NOW!' This repeats several times a day. Then at night, it's Puddles. He likes to go outside, but only at night. And not when it's cold. But he has to think about it. So, he steps onto the patio. I'm standing at the door. He's looking at me. 'Are you staying out or coming in?' He just stares at me. So, I have to play this little game with him. I close the door. Lock it. Stand there for about 30 seconds. Open the door and he comes slinking in. This repeats several times a night, too. The animals have taken over.
