I agree; there's too much inappropriate stuff on TV. I'm pretty much a free speech person and I would not like to live in a world where everything we see, hear, and read has to be appropriate for 5 year olds. BUT - when I read a book that is only for adults, or go to an R or X rated movie or play, or buy a CD with a warning label, or even watch cable TV, I know what to expect and I would not expose my grandkids to that. But what is on TV in family viewing time on the main channels should be stuff that you don't have to sit and censor every word. Of course, I'm not a big TV fan and I don't necessarily think kids should be watching all that TV anyway, but a lot of them do and so we have to live with that. So why can't they put this stuff on late at night? I think the powers that be don't even know what is appropriate and what isn't - that seems to be the world we live in these days.
