Went the the school and waited to speak to the only person who responded this week. The VP and I talked about the fact that my son can get top grades as it clear in most of his assignments and quizes and tests. So what, I asked, is preventing him from receiving the teacher involvement for him to follow the details to also have the full benefits of his ability and that is top grades? The hokey system in place now, which revolves around me prompting the school through the 504 specialist to provide me with the weekly progress reports and the assignments due or missed work is not effective in such occations as the weeks past where the information is not forth coming and results in me receiving to little and late notice thereby preventing this from serving in any meaningful way the student they are obligated by law serve as teachers. Again I asked about the follow up IQ assessments to determine if the assumptions that the school has balanced their current approach is ruled in or ruled out. I pointed out that based soully on the testing from 5th grade at this point it appears that the writing issue (his lowest score then) may not have been resolved by the typing as all the subjects he is having the grades at the B level are those which use typing for all work. What I am feeling about this after all the meetings I have already attended is that the teachers do know and I am going to tease out something from all this by the end of next week. Meanwhile I am having terrible backpain this week and everything is just a living hell for me. The only reason I keep going on this site is that it is one of the few places I find any ideas for coping through this time. i feel so isolated and limited and it is just to important not to try and motivate for a solution. while there at the school I saw the nitwit Special Education loaf who was so indifferant and what I heard coming out of his mouth happened to be him gleefully telling the vp that "if the paperwork is submitted it will still delay by 30 days anyway" as if it is a good thing. Delay, put off, apologise, repeat as needed.:knockedout:
