My son actually got worse on Risperdal. He took it for a month to settle down his manic reaction to Zoloft and ended up with both dystonia and akathisia (an internal and external restlessness akin to agitation). Is that what you're seeing? It may just be that the increase in Risperdal coincided with Lamictal completely leaving his bloodstream. When exactly did he stop Lamictal?
