Now I had to go look at mine which is a Maytag  LOL


The fan is hidden by the little screens that trap the grease - for the life of me I cannot think of the proper name for them (blond moment)  Mine vents out at the top, but can be changed in case you don't have a flue to vent out in the front.


It has to have a button for the fan proably on the face of it underneath all of the little buttons. 


SO installed ours, and one thing I do remember is that it had to be 30 or 36 inches, cant remember which,  above the stove and I didn't measure before I bought it (impulse buy) so I had a moment of panic after the old hood was taken out.


I don't know for the life of me how anyone could cook on an electric stove - I love the little fine tuning of a flame even though with two adhd people in the house we have lost more than a few pots and pans over the years...
