Well - Just to add insult to injury in case anyone was wondering the legalities and your rights as an American citizen. I found out today just what rights I have. I consulted our attorney. We have none. In a nutshell? I can't unbecome the boys Mother, the law can do whatever it needs to do to capture a criminal no matter WHAT the charges, I'm lucky they didn't shoot my dog in the line of duty, I'm very lucky the dog didn't bite anyone and have his head cut off for a rabies test, and I'm extremely lucky knowing I have bulldogs that IIIIIIIIIIIIII am not being sued because I own three of the worst dogs you can own as a homeowner. Well gheesh....the poodle just wasn't keeping the robbers out of the yard. The fact that I have a crazy ex that has been trying to kill me for years and I have a need to protect myself in my home? Tough luck. No joke - My attorney said if I was sleeping in the house and heard a noise, went down the hallway armed and discharged a weapon thinking one of the officers was a robber sneaking around in my home? I would be charged with murder and probably do life in prison or worse. Basically I was told today I have no rights in my own home. Short of selling that house, moving and giving no forwarding address? We're asking for a phillips in the noggin'. DF will be THRILLED.
