We all know how rarely I watch tv. However, tonight I caught the show Mystery Diagnosis. They were telling about a woman with so many symptoms common to yours, who just kept getting worse and docs couldn't figure out what the problem was. I won't go into all the details. But do you have really dry hair and skin? And has your doctor looked into Hashimoto's Disease? It's a disease that affects the thyroid. It causes extreme fatigue, headaches, joint and muscle pain. This woman had every test under the sun and a mob of specialist missed it. She finally found one doctor willing to look at all her history who figured it out pretty quickly. (I'm guessing had also seen a case of the disease sometime before) The doctor was an endocrinologist. Her thyroid test didn't come back drastically altered. Which is why it had been missed. But it was the results in combo with her history and symptoms that cinched the diagnosis. Andit is easily treated with great relief to the patient. I know you've been having a particularly hard time of late and wanted to pass this on just in case it might be helpful to you and the docs. I dunno if you could look the show up online to see the episode or not. Actually, the show is still on. It's just moved on to another case It was on TLC. Hugs
