He cannot collect welfare here. there is no welfare for adults without children who are not disabled. The only thing he can get is three months of food stamps and they make you work your :censored2: off to get those. You have to be actively working with the unemployment office to find work or have a doctors note saying that you are too sick to work. The south is not a good place for people who need welfare.

I had medicaid due to Cory being under 20 when Cory was on SSI because I was his mother and I had no income. When he turned 20, I lost my medicaid and I hadnt received my disability yet. I went almost 3 years without any sort of insurance at all and lost all my doctors and had to use just a clinic that I had to pay 25 a visit and they didnt give out any pain medications at all. I went through public mental health and got indigent mental health. I had to see the worst psychiatrist I have ever seen. He stripped me of all my regular medications until he saw what he did to me and then he slowly put me back on some of them but not all. I was never so glad to get my insurance back. We really dont have anyway to get access to specialists at all. Even the fact that I had a letter saying my boys helped me pay my electric bill and Tony helped me pay my car insurance and helped me buy food and buy paper products put me over income for help with specialists. Isnt that idiotic.

Goodness Janet...

I am really thinking of you...saying a prayer that this Buck Character will get out of your home asap. I don't think this is good for your stability at all.

We had gotten "rid" of everyone in our home...after young difficult child picked up in December. As you may recall we had up to around 10 people living in our home a yr or 2 ago.
Well recently one of husband's employee's, a young man-friend of easy child's, was cut waaaay back. husband told him we didn't have work for him for around 6 to 8 weeks. soooo, he is now living with us again since this past Sunday.

The other night (while husband and I were out of town and my mother was here at our home watching grandbabies) Young man walks into our house into our living room, turns off the grandbabies cartoons and proceeds to watch a movie for himself (called my mom to check on things while we were on the road and heard about situation).
I was LIVID when we got home...exhausted too but absolutely beside myself.
I am SO ready for the empty nest again.
It gets old having to "bundle up" in your own house too, huh.

Anyway...Hope this situation with "Buck" gets better before you blow your stack!

I didnt sleep all night again last night. I thought Tony had to go to work this morning so I was waiting for him to wake up so we could have a talk about this unemployment situation and what would happen if Buck cant get it. He is still convinced he will be able to get it. I am not so sure. Tony says years ago when we moved to Lumberton from Greensboro he collected unemployment because we moved and it was too far from his job to get to work. I told him that was probably because his job ended up there then. He says no it didnt, we just left at the end of the school year. Well that is possible but with the construction company he was with they may not have contested it because they wouldnt have kept him on working from here. They probably did do a lay off for him. But we certainly werent homeless in Greensboro and coming down to Lumberton to be homeless and staying with a relative. We had already procured a place to stay before we came.

Sigh....off to call SC again and see if I can get anyone to give me any concrete answers. I really need something to hang my hat on.
