G'day, people.
Sharon/Wiped, I hope you get to your book club. There's nothing like going into reader's withdrawal... how will you manage over the break?
Sharon/LDM, I hope the headache eases off for you.
Linda, enjoy the visit with your father.
WFEN, sounds like you have a busy day.
mother in law & I had our monthly GP appointments today. husband was off for the day but had to go out later to see his podiatrist, so he & I played ships in the night, taking turns staying with difficult child 3 while he did his schoolwork.
After the doctor, mother in law & I did our shopping. I also bought some millet to bribe the budgies with, the website I found said budgies are tarts for millet. I tested that this afternoon - they're right! I think we'll even be able to train our 2 year old totally anxious budgie into being more cooperative.
We've just had a late dinner - pork was going cheap again, about a third the price of beef, the next cheapest protein. So we had the sort of evening meal we usually only reserve for festive occasions. But it took a lot longer to roast. And now we have a lot of leftover roast pork.
The doctor's scales gave me some good news - I've lost more weight than I thought. At this rate I'll be a shadow of my former self by the time I see the specialist again. And hopefully I'll be able to justify a special outfit for difficult child 1's wedding in November.
Tomorrow is another (school)day, but Thursday we have to take difficult child 3 into his correspondence school for a state-wide test. The test is also today and tomorrow, but the school has asked us to give the kids those tests at home, probably next week. These tests are just our state government wanting some idea of how their education system is working. A waste of time, for difficult child 3. Practice, maybe, for when it really DOES matter.
Enjoy your Tuesday, everyone.
