Queen of Hearts
Just for giggles I decided to spend the last 5 days in the hospital. Not!
I ended up in ER last Thursday night due to confusion, weakness & other such things. Turns out I was extremely dehydrated, low heart rate & low BiPolar (BP). I was put on various & sundry medications to fight the side effects of prednisone ~ needless to say as I'm titrating off the prednisone I don't need quite as much of those medications. Or any of them at all. AND having so many specialists in the mix meant no one was watching this.
I'm home now, rehydrated - weak but rehydrated with a normal pulse & much higher BiPolar (BP) than I went in with (110/70 I went in at 85/40).
A very very dear friend arranged for Sally to be picked up & taken to the kennel. Mental health case manager found an emergency bed for kt in less than 12 hours (amazing, really amazing) ~ kt spent the first night in the hospital with me. kt is coming home in a couple of hours, Sally should be delivered home as well (thanks Sue for your help).
Now is the time to make an emergency plan. I don't have family I can count on in this town for help in an emergency. My service providers all pulled together to get kt in a safe placement but if there is a long term need I'm out of luck.
I came home & there was a home health nurse waiting for me this morning. I'm to have PT, Occupational Therapist (OT), HHA & whatever else my insurance will pay for until my strength builds back to base line.
I spent the last 5 days resting, rehydrating, crying & sketching. I had a neuropysch evaluation done while I was there. Again, just for giggles.
Life is good. I'm home & a snow storm is about to hit.
