I have thought about getting a tattoo. But on my body? Would not be a good look. My mom and I were going to get them together when I was about 15, but we decided not to. They were not legal in our state, and we were going to do it when visiting my bro after basic training. But there was a big article about a large hepatitis outbreak from several people who worked at the tattoo places in that town, so we decided we had enough problems with-o risking that one too.
Years later when I got married I was glad I didn't have one. husband hates them. His dad got one when he was on leave from the military and was drunk as a skunk. father in law HATED it from the day he woke up with it. Got it taken off, but it didn't come off well and the area looks bad.
I think sephora has a line of tattoo cover makeup that Kat Von whatever from that tattoo show endorsed. I know there was one add campaign where all her tattoos were covered up and she looked like she didn't have ANY at all. Which either needed a lot of airbrushing or was a sign that it is truly amazing stuff. It might be a nice gift - not that you odn't "support" her decision to get the tattoo, but that you know that sometimes it might be a problem with a job.
Around here there are a LOT of jobs you can't get iwth a tattoo. Heck, even our McDonalds won't hire you if it shows. A neck tattoo is even a problem if you pull your long hair into a high ponytail - they make them change. It probably isn't all McD's, as they are franchises and each owner is a little different. But a LOT of food places won't hire you unless you cover tattoos or big holes in ears, etc.... At least not around here. The college makes students cover them up for work study, and for any more serious job you are just out of luck if they can see one.
