I just found the # to call to stop getting all those "pre-approved" credit offers. They drive me nuts as we get about 10 each week. Not only are they annoying and open you up to identity theft from people going through garbage/landfills, they also waste a HUGE amount of resources.

I thought maybe some of you might like to have the # and email address. The opt-out is for 5 years and if you want it permanently you can go to the website to do that. I think you can do the 5yr opt out at the website also.

    1-888-5-OPT-OUT (1-888-567-8688) or visit www.optoutprescreen.com.

The phone # and website are operated by the major credit companies (Experian, etc...), not by some fly by night group trying to get your info.

Caller ID is such a wonderful thing.

I don't recognize the number, I don't pick up the phone. It rings too long (most 800 numbers do) I pick it up and hang it up. Some are stubborn, I hang up on them several times in a row until they give up. lol

I've tried to get off lists.......somehow we always seem to get back on them. Caller ID works for us.
