    Help!!

I haven't posted in quite awhile. There has been SO much going on. He has been having a lot of aggressive, destructive behaviors. This place is supposed to have doctors who have trained under the best Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) specialists. My lawyer/advocate thinks most of those reviews could be for the main...

Hi - My difficult child has been in the adolescent unit of a local hospital for two weeks today. Early Onset Bipolar Disorder in Children

Good Morning - My 12 year old difficult child has been diagnosed with High-Functioning Autism (HFA), ADHD, ODD, Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD). I happened to pick up a book on Early Onset Bipolar Disorder which I am almost positive he has and yet it has gone undiagnosed. Does anyone know anything about this or have a child who has been diagnosed with it...

    I Was Hopeful

I'm sorry too, Bunny. Hope is definitely very hard to hold on too. The last 2-3 weeks I feel like that's what I've been missing and I know I have to do something different because we have to have SOME hope or life doesn't seem worth it. Sent from my iPhone using ConductDisorders

    Daughter ran away from facility

I agree with you 100% - whether you call ODD a diagnosis or you are referring to the many symptoms people refer to as ODD - it is a killer for families. Hugs. Sent from my iPhone using ConductDisorders

I REALLY feel for you. I wish I had an answer. I'm a but surprised that they wouldn't keep her longer BECAUSE of her defiance. If she does that in there, how do they expect you to deal with it? I know that most times when difficult child would be d/c from hospital, there was a "honeymoon" period and then it...

    Refusing To Go To School

Whenever I have tried to homeschool difficult child, he is defiant and won't do the work. I was thinking of doing the online thing but whenever difficult child is at home he complains of boredom (which is his biggest fear) and then meltdowns start...:( Sent from my iPhone using ConductDisorders

Hugs to you. I wish I could encourage you but I'm in the same place. I don't know how to change things. One thing I am going to do is get therapy for myself because I feel like I'm breaking down and that will not help my son. Just know you are not alone.

I understand your heartbreak. My 12 year old son has had multiple inpatients during the past 5 years. He may wind up in Residential one day and it hurts too much to even talk about it. I will say one thing: it may not feel this way, but it is actually a good thing that she is exhibiting these...

Things are so bad right now

Hi Jules - so sorry things are so bad. I feel your pain. difficult child is on 4 medications: Depakote, Clonidine. Celexa, and Abilify. I have no idea what, if any, is helping. difficult child tried Concerta and Vyvanse and stopped eating and wouldn't sit still. My husband just doesn't get it

The police took no action. Spoke to both of us separately and then told us we gave two totally different stories. husband painted a picture of trying to protect me. I was in NO danger. Anyway, after they left I realized that they never asked to see difficult child, which I find really odd. No repercussions...

My husband just doesn't get it

Thank you everyone for your responses. I'm not sure how I gave the impression that husband is difficult child's stepdad. He is his biological father. husband is a great guy in many ways. We have never had a wonderful marriage but difficult child's issues have really strained it more. We have two grown children who we never had...

My husband just doesn't get it

Merry Christmas All and thank you for being here. Last night I called the police on my husband. He went after difficult child and I had had enough. He can bring me down in a nanosecond

I can totally understand. It doesn't seem to matter how many nice things I do for difficult child. The second I say NO to something, he reacts with screaming. I do pretty well not reacting as far as not taking it personally but sometimes it gets me crazy. I feel like I am hostage to his meltdowns when I say...
