I just saw this. Somehow I missed it yesterday. This literally breaks my heart. Has he ever been in something like adult foster care, or is he too much of a criminal. I just hate the fact that our governments have done away with psychiatric hospitals for the most part. He needs that more than my son does, for sure. I would be a mess too and feel sorry for him too. Afterall, it's not his fault he was born with such a horrible disability. You are doing all that you can, and you know this you just need to hear it. and hear it and hear it until it sinks in deep. :( Even MR learn self control with repetition, so on some level, the criminal part, may mean exactly what you say...that he will be institutionalized for a long time. I have often thought, so many of these people would rather be institutionalized in jail/prison bc it gives them more of a sense of structure and they don't have to try to figure things out for themselves. I am starting to wonder if this is my son's plan. Hugs to you!!! Hang in there, and do something special for yourself today.
