Can you be a member of the grandma's Club if your grandhcild isn't born yet? At least the last time I checked, he wasn't! The day isn't over yet though. Last Wednesday (five weeks till her due date) she went to the doctor - was told that she was starting to dilate and to make sure her bags were packed, that he wasn't going to wait another five weeks. After her appointment her back started hurting and she went back to the doctor. They checked her and said she was 3 to 4 cm dilated, and put her on a monitor that said she was having regular contractions every seven minutes! But the contractions stopped. She went back this Wednesday (4 weeks till her due date) and they said she was 4 cm dilated - he's "done" and ready to go, and it could be any time in the next week or so. They estimated that he's already 7 to 7-1/2 pounds (4 weeks before his due date). They're not worried if he's a little early, said he's fine. When I was in that stage, I took a long ride down a very bumpy road in an old pickup truck with no shock absorbers, but I don't know if I'd recommend that to her! She's at that stage where it hurts to sit, hurts to walk, hurts to stand, and can't get comfortable even lying down ... but it won't be long now!
