My son went off the rails at 15 and got the CD diagnosis as well. I was terrified!!! I started searching everywhere for what it meant! I then found this site but I didn't think this was really "us'; this was too hard core. We were at the very beginning of our almost 8 year journey and I was in a fog. My head was spinning. From what I'm told that is really not a diagnosis but a catch all diagnosis waiting to see what is really developing. That was scarier yet! My son's psychiatrist told me he would probably spend his life in jail. Gulp and internal tremble for me. My son did not agree with this but I was starting to believe it may come true. No all teenagers do not have this diagnosis. My older son never acted like this or went off the rails like this. Not even close. My stepson had some issues but LEARNED from his mistakes. Our younger son did NOT. He did not care. To me, that is the difference between the normal teen growing pains and a more serious problem. My son turned out to have anxiety which turned into an addiction to prescription drugs. Addiction is an illness. And it's an illness whereby the patient doesn't think they need help. Not sure there is anything worse than that. Good luck and stay strong. If I had to do over I would have put my son in a military high school or some other very strict program.
