the school has at least some sort of social skills class or whatever you call it for difficult child. What they call it is homework club, and it has some social skills implemented into it. difficult child has been having problems with several boys after and before school, and some of them are in this. The idea is to try to teach them how to work thru their problems. They also do their homework. For difficult child the emphasis is not homework, but it may be for some others. I hope it does some good. difficult child went for the first time today and loved it. He can't wait to go back. Several of the teachers know him, and their is even male teacher (we don't have many of those at difficult child's school) and a junior high boy helping out.

I am just so glad the school is finally offering something.

Sounds like a great idea. Is this a pilot program or has it been implemented in other schools?

as far as I know it is the only one of its kind, and it could have been started as the principal used to be a school psychologist at one time. I am not sure if I would call it a pilot program tho.
