[QUOTE="Marguerite, post: 142705, member: 1991"] G'day, people. Linda, I hope you get to reschedule your appointment. I do a home-made teriyaki marinade too. I change it around a bit sometimes depending on what I feel like. If you haven't got any mirin, you can use sweet sherry. We have a great product in Australia called green ginger wine, I use that instead of mirin. Then I add soy sauce, sometimes I add honey, I often add finely chopped ginger and/or garlic, and sometimes a small chilli. To make it easier on easy child 2/difficult child 2 who doesn't like to encounter small 'hot spots' I puree the lot, including the chilli, ginger and garlic, so it's all in the marinade and nicely even. Sometimes I store the marinade in the freezer, but often I pan-fry the pieces, remove them, pour some of the marinade into the pan, simmer it down to a syrup then put the meat back in to glaze with the syrup. Any leftover pieces go in the fridge to be served sliced, cold, with salad in wraps. easy child 2/difficult child 2 likes to do teriyaki fish in foil parcels baked in the oven. Sharon/Wiped, I hope you get to your exercise. You need to find some other ways to de-stress. Sharon/LDM, the shrimp sounds lovely. I saw a recipe for shrimp on skewers - they used a stick of lemon grass as a skewer. I haven't tried that one but it looked tasty. ANd about the weight - what does the tape measure say? If you're exercising, that could be more relevant than the scales. I had to see my urologist today. He wants me in hospital for tests and cystoscopy, but I've talked him out of it for now. One more infection though, and I think that will be it. I've got some cream to try (now that I'm menopausal) which might help. Fingers crossed. Tomorrow difficult child 3 has a science study day at school, so we leave early and fight the traffic. We'll do our shopping on the way home, so it's going to be a big day. Enjoy your Wednesday.
