SS, I know how you feel. I have often thought that our kids here all memorized the same book, the difficult child handbook. In fact, once we had a whole thread on all the things in that handbook and your eyes would roll right out of your head if you read it, it is remarkable how similar they are, drugs, alcohol, mental issues, it almost doesn't matter, they mostly say the same things, respond the same way, it's uncanny. And, yet, we, the parents, being of a relative sound mind, respond the same too, for a very long time, we seem to go down this path sideways and upside down, but down we go. We attempt to respond in a normal, well thought out, loving, caring and supportive manner............until we realize that none of that works. We are dealing with something so vastly different then what is in our reality..........which is usually when we find this site and begin the journey of change that most of us are on. It is quite the journey too. No one expected this, no one wanted this, no one would wish this on anyone..............but, here we are. We have each other and that ends up mattering so much.......
