Baby Abbey. She's a year old. Some of you may remember how sick she was at 11 weeks old and how we thought we might lose her then. That's when we found out that her kidneys are malformed. She's been doing wonderfully - maintaining kidney function and is just pure joy. 2 nights ago she was her happy little self, trying to catch the bugs that were on the outside of the window...doing sneak attacks. Yesterday she just laid around in my room. Every time I get out of the shower, she comes running in to lick the water off the side of the tub. It's her thing. I got out yesterday and she didn't come....even when I called, where's the baby? I was a bit concerned, but it wasn't unusual for her to have a quiet day here and there. Last night as I was going to bed, she was laying on difficult child's robe on my floor. She's about the same color and I didn't see her and almost stepped on her. She didn't make a noise, just got up and went under the bed. That's when I started to get worried. She stayed under the bed all night. I got up this morning and fed the cats and she didn't come to the kitchen. I went back to my room to check on her and she had come out from under the bed and was back on the robe. I brought her a bowl of water and she sniffed it and went back under the bed. She's still there. When her kidney's were failing before, she wouldn't drink either. I have a bad feeling about this. I think her kidneys are failing. We have an appointment at the vet at 4pm. My heart is breaking. :crying: I couldn't love her more if she were a human child. I feel like I'm going to throw up. She's such a sweet girl. And she's just a baby. Please keep a good thought for Abbey. I'll update after the appointment.
