Yes it is. And I'm hoping to see it continue. As for the bread making and baking..........we're doing it the old fashion way for a reason, so that we know how and to get good at it. If it's too much for me, I can always pick up a bread maker. Same with the cake mixes ect. easy child made the most divine totally from scratch cake for Nichole's baby shower........and omg it tastes nothing like the mixes you get in the store. She had to hide it from me or I'd have gained 50 lbs, and I'm not that big on sweets. lol easy child and I share a Sam's membership and she just mentioned to me about the yeast the other day. Good to know it stays good in the freezer though cuz I'd never have thought of it. We're planning a prospective trip next week, which I may see if katie would like to tag along. As I drag her out of the house, away from moron man, I see a more "normalish" version of katie. I see someone trying hard to be part of the social aspect of the family and to participate. She has very poor social skills. But she is trying. Yesterday she removed brandon from his carseat and held his hand in the parking lot and into the store. I know that seems such a teeny little thing...and so unimportant, but for her? HUGE ENORMOUS! And I was so thrilled brandon didn't pitch a fit that this virtual "stranger" of an aunt did so. (you know how 2 yr olds can be) It's like last time when she helped me get the wheelchair in and out of the car for easy child. To other people that seems like such stupid things to smile about, or even be hopeful about........But for this girl it is a major step in the right direction. It's sad that I haven't seen her interact this way with family members since she was a kid. But if I don't poke and prod and drag her away from moron man.........she back slides back into old behavior and thinking patterns. So, it looks like I'm going to have to push, prod, and drag until she feels comfortable and trust in the family again. I'll have to try not to give her time in between to back slide.
