[QUOTE="dixiegirl34, post: 49952, member: 3802"] difficult child has seen a child psychologists but not a psychiatrist. The community mental heatlh here is run really strange, to me anyway. They will not make an appointment, it's first come first serve and they only see 8 patients a day. If you are lucky enough to get in they will do all the testing that day so you will not have to come back. They told me it could take up to 5 or more hours and the child would get one small break. Also once you get evaluated you still are on a first come first serve basis and you will not see the same doctor everytime. After speaking to some people who had tried their program I decided it was not for my son. Sadly this is how so many kids in my area either go untreated or have little success with treatment and unfortunately they usually end up kicked out of school and in prison before long. I love the south, I've always lived in the south but my husband and I have been talking about moving solely for the kids sake. Ever since I've had children I've been disapointed in the medical care here. As one mom said, I also get a different medical opinion with each new doctor so how do you know who's right? With my third difficult child he was born with club feet. We lived in the car for over a year traveling to specialists because there are not any in my area. We ended up living out off state for 3 months for surgery. This is the first year we were trying to get back to normal, whatever normal is, but difficult child 1 has beed getting worse, so I may end up out of state with him as well. I'll keep you posted.
