I visited kt at Residential Treatment Center (RTC) this past Friday ~ she needed socks & underwear; started a bit of school shopping & picked her up a pair of jeans & shoes. She's earning money at the Residential Treatment Center (RTC) & spent all of it on new CDs. I told her she needed to put some of it aside for shirts or other school supplies ~ I would not be buying all of it this year. Mope. She's doing well & addressing physical/emotional boundaries & grief & loss. kt has asked mental health case manager to stay 6 months - "the last time I was here it was 9 months; maybe I'll need that". I'm not ready to look at discharge - she's too soon into the program. It will depend on help with funding. Saying all that, she's doing well. kt isn't being let off because she's charming & hides herself in books this time around. Staff is watching her closely & psychiatrist will be changing her medications due to the mania we've been seeing. I'll see her again this Friday though I'm not ready to take her off grounds. She's a runner ~ not willing to take that on.
