Keista-- Yes, difficult child notices the changes in herself....and is very PROUD of herself for being able to respond better in situations that used to send her flying off the handle immediately. As far as the reason she has finally agreed to take the medications? I'd like to think it's because of our excellent parenting (LOL!) - but really, who knows? Maybe she has been frustrated long enough and was ready to try something new? Step-- Yeah, no surprises from government programs. And I don't *think* I was dreaming....but I'm gonna see if there's another shoe waiting to drop before I assume anything. Insane-- Yep - so far, so good. Keep your fingers crossed that everything continues to go well with the medications... Jody-- I'll second that Yippee!!! Susie-- The "head honcho" is the governor. In my head...I have already written a thousand scathing letters - but honestly? I have absolutely no hope that the governor give's a rat's patootie about the services the program is or is not providing. And from what I understand....the program was revamped just over a year ago due to criticisms that they were providing "too many" services and were not able to justify the costs of those services with documented results. So this "new and improved" program is designed to provide as few services as possible. And those services that ARE approved...must go through a lengthy process to make sure that they are are not only necessary, but will be structured in such a way that clearly documents the child's progress. That's why goals like "No violence in the home" are not acceptable.
