Hi Skool, well, I am not a all surprised that she has ramped it up and is now demanding the child support money, your child support money. As you said, she has burned through what she received from her father's estate in her freshman year of college. The problem is, she will continue to hold onto the idea that the money belongs to her. Many of our d-cs do not have a healthy understanding and respect for money. To them money will make them happy because they can party and have a good time but when the money runs out and it always does they contact us wanting more. Your daughter has the "I'm entitled attitude" I know it well from dealing with my son. They want it all and they want it now and they do not want to have to work for anything. You do not owe your daughter one penny. She of course will continue to say you do. Her threats of taking you to court are laughable. If she threatens that again, if it were me, I would tell her very simply, do what you feel you need to do. You would be calling her bluff, letting her know that she cannot use the threat of court as some form of "blackmail". Just for arguments sake, let's say that she did manage to find a lawyer to represent her or worse yet she represents herself, when you explain to the judge how she has already burned through so much money and how she has stolen from you and used your credit cards without permission the judge will dismiss her case. I have learned to keep my replies to my son very simple and very short. When he has made threats where he thinks he can blackmail me I tell him, do what you feel you need to do. The main thing is to send a message that you will not be intimidated. You are doing great Skool. You are standing your ground. :staystrong:
