[QUOTE="susiestar, post: 574486, member: 1233"] (((((hugs))))) Congrats on selling the house in these tough times. I am sorry that finding a new place is so difficult right now. We went through similar over the summer. If you haven't talked to your pastor/revered, do so. Often they can help because they will know if any church members are landlords and they are often able to spread the word. Also let your friends know. I know it isn't fun, but the problems iwth your credit are very very common right now and people do pass on info. Also look for rental property owned by a person or family, not owned by a mgmt company. Often you can talk your way into a rental and get some of the conditions waived if you can talk to the actual owner and not to a manager hired to care for the property. We spent several months in a home owned by friends who were trying to sell it. The realtor loved having us there because the place didnt' look so empty and we did all we could to make it look nice and smell inviting. We hated the showings because they were such a PITA and often tried to give us less than 2 hrs rather than the 24 stated in our contract. I am very sorry things are so up in the air and stressful.
