What is EIP? The school sent home a letter about EIP for reading for my son but I don't know what that is. I've also seen it in a lot of your posts. Can someone tell me what EIP stands for and what it is?

Are you sure they don't mean IEP?

Are you referring to an IEP? It is an Individualized Educational Program that you and the school team come up with for your child. Goals, ways to reach those goals and possible help and additional support that your child may need and should receive from the school so you child can achieve their educational best.

EIP could refer to Early Intervention Program but your son is too old for that.

Double check what they wrote (IEP or EIP). Either way, I would recommend going to the meeting, but do a little "homework" first. There are several on this board that can help point you in the right direction about how to prepare yourself and knowing what to expect if you'll verify which one they want to pursue, then maybe you can start a thread on the Special Education forum asking about it.
