No, I was OK on Melbourne Cup Day, but I didn't leave home to go to any Cup luncheons and because husband was home, we didn't go in any sweeps. We didn't even watch it on TV, I think that was when we were down at the doctor's with husband and difficult child 3.
I'd have liked to watch it, to see Bart Cummings bring in yet another winner. He's a legend in Aussie racing, a legend among legends.
At least none of us had planned to go to any luncheons. I would hate to have forked out for a hat or dress (sorry, FROCK) and not got to wear it.
I baked biscuits instead. And a roast dinner for difficult child 1 and girlfriend, then we talked into the night planning the wedding running sheet. So at least I got sick AFTER I had got a lot of important stuff done.
The X-rays etc - I have had to organise them for next Wednesday. Maybe third time lucky?
I've just had a conference call with difficult child 3's school (nothing to do with difficult child 3's work, I'm on a school committee) and we leave soon to go to see my GP. Somewhere in there I have to give difficult child 3 his Geography exam. I don't know if I have time, I may have to break up the task. I still have to go pack a work bag for him and then we go driving "to the mainland" first to my GP and then to difficult child 3's new specialist.
Must pack the iPod... at least we got the air conditioning fixed on Tuesday. I shouldn't need it today but you never know...
Thanks for all your thoughts, my friends. husband was touched also.
