My BFF and I have been making this for almost 15 years and it is easy and so good and not so lowfat!!! MAPLE BREAD PUDDING: 9x13 greased glass pan 350 degrees 1 1/4 hours for baking 4 T butter melted 16 slices bread cubed 2 1/2 C REAL Maple Syrup (GO VERMONT) 8 Eggs 2 C half&half 1 C milk 1 1/2 t salt Pour bread crumbs into greased pan. Drizzle butter over bread. Pour 1 cup Maple Syrup over bread. In bowl, beat eggs, add remaining ingredients EXCEPT maple syrup. Pour over bread. Push down bread crumbs into egg mixture to make sure all cubes are saturated with liquid. Sprinkle some NUTMEG and FINELY CHOPPED WALNUTS on top. place pan in a larger pan, filled with about an inch of wated. (this is so the pudding will cook evenly and stay moist) Bake at 350, for 1 1/4 hours. Pour remaining Syrup over top and cracks... serve warm by itself or with fresh whipped cream!!! Delicious!!!!
