difficult child has just gone back on Concerta. I was surprised by 2 things. 1. they now have a generic for it. And 2. For some reason the pharmacist called the dr office to confirm the prescription. Is this new? It has been quite some years since difficult child has taken it. She is starting to struggle in her college classes.

Concerta is a controlled substance, so... rules have probably gotten tougher.
Never used the generic form, so can't compare it's effectiveness. But... I do know that generic methylphenidate (the short-acting form) is NOT the same effect as brand-name Ritalin.

Try it, see how it works, but be prepared to also try the brand-name version and compare.
