Good Thursday morning.....Happy New Year

Good morning friends,

It's been a long while & I've missed you all. kt & I enjoyed a quiet New Year's Eve together & stayed up til midnight to wish in the year 2009.

Hard to believe it's 2009! :happy_new_year:
It's a bit of cleaning up around here - laundry & such today (kt has respite tomorrow). PCA arrives around 1 or so & we head up to the hospital to visit husband. I have paperwork that needs to be filled out by ICU specialists for husband's employer for continuance of insurance & such. We'll stay about an hour, head to the grocery store to pick up something wonderful for dinner & head home.

It's supposed to warm up today (getting out of the sub zero temps :frozen: ) & hit a high of 18 degrees. :coldday:

Have a wonderful holiday friends. Hug your loved ones.

Good morning! Everyone must be still sleeping after staying up so late. We're in California, but we rang the new year in with the East Coast folks and went to bed. Champagne for us; Martinelli's for the cubs. Not much planned for today besides cleaning the house -- have to start the new year with a clean house, right?

Good Morning Linda and RFTS. Happy New Year to all of you.:christmaslights:
Linda hope the visit isn't too painful for you and kt.

RFTS, I think the clean house thing sounds good. It will take a few days to get all the decorations down but it will be a relief when they are packed away.

It's pretty cool today but nothing like Linda's temps. It got below freezing last night. Unfortunately, I left the beautiful poinsietta's out. They look pretty dead. : (

I'm going to make blueberry pancakes this AM and pork and sauerkraut this evening. In between I'll try to get some housework done and take a nap.

Happy 2009.

Timer - Take care today. I hope the paperwork gets done and that you find a very good supper.

Running - Have a great day today. I hope you get your goals of cleaning accomplished.

Fran - I love blueberry pancakes! Have a great day.

I got to bed at 2:30 am. We are suppose to go to husband's relatives today but I think we will cancel. With winds today, it will be hard to see the road for traveling. So, I will go into my work for a few hours.

It is a lot warmer this morning from yesterday. One of our forecasts state more snow this afternoon and then snow Friday pm - Saturday. easy child has to drive one hour to Fargo on Sunday to pick up a friend from the airport.

Have a great day today! Find a way to make your difficult child laugh.

Good Morning All! Happy New Year!

Like Adrianne, I was up until about 2:30. Slept until almost 9 this morning! A record.....

Like Fran, I'll be detrimming today. I love my tree and all the decorations, but there is a sense of renewal and order when it's all put away for another year.

We will feast on Thai food tonight.

I hope your day is a lazy one!

Mom? What's a difficult child?
Linda- it is great to see you. I to hope the visit is not too hard on either one of you.

TFTS- I am sitting here looking at all of the cleaning I am supposed to start. But I have 2 little girls hanging on me, I think they will win! :)

Fran- I made Huckleberry Crepes!!! I had a couple pounds of huckleberries that my Dad brought down from Idaho. So I made a pie and I used the leftovers for crepe topping... They were GOOD!

Andy- Hope work goes fast! have a nice day, low stress.

Jennifer- Have a great time sledding!!! I might actually be jealous!

LDM- Oh, Thai food! That is my all time favorite... I have to cook it though most times. MMMM

Here it is upper 70's and low 80's!!! I still can not believe this place!!! I am going to clean up the yard and ride the bikes with the girls.
I found bob-cat poop!!! In the rocks on the edges of our pool yesterday... hmm. So I have some clean up today... 2 piles!

I wish everyone a wonderful day, husband is on day 5 of a severe gout attack, he can not walk. So I am trying VERY hard to remain sweet. I think the house cleaning can wait.

Good Morning and Happy New Year!

Linda-Take care of you. Glad you are getting out of the subzero temps.

RFS-Good to see you! Wish the cleaning fairy would come to my house and clean!

Fran-Pork and Sauerkraut! Yummmmmmmm-Can I come for dinner? No one at my house likes sauerkraut! A friend of mine makes it great-with brown sugar! Oh my, I'm getting hungry!

Andy-You were up late! Stay in and stay safe!

Jen-Have fun sledding! We need to take difficult child one of these days-he loves to sled.

Sharon-I hate the detrimming but we will start today or tomorrow. Enjoy your Thai food tonight!

We had a fun time at the game in Michigan even though we lost. The drive there on Tuesday was awful-took us way to long-we drove through freezing rain and then blowing snow. Yuck!

We got home last night around 10:00 and ordered our favorite pizza. Then we watched a couple of Twilight Zone episodes. We were in bed by midnight!

Went to church this morning and might go to the club this afternoon. A nap will be had for sure and more Twilight Zones will be watched.

Wishing everyone a peaceful day.:kisses:

Here we go again!
Good morning and Happy New Year to all!

We watched all three "Back To The Future" movies last night which we received from sister in law#1 for Xmas. The kids had never seen them before and loved them! At midnight we went out front with our pots, pans, wooden spoons and difficult child 2's trumpet and did our ritual song and dance :D Only one other set of neighbors came out, and they were laughing as much as we were. Seems we woke all the coyotes within 5 miles because we could hear them all over the hills!

It's 11am and our kids are still sleeping, husband and I got up around 9am, let the chicks out of the coop and enjoyed the morning sun for a bit.

He's currently watching the outdoor hockey game in Wrigley Field! I'm waiting for the kids to wake up and enjoying the quiet. There's a guy on a Rose Parade float ("Donate Life -- Stars of Life") this morning who's wearing a soccer jersey difficult child 1 got to sign. There are players from Chivas USA there as well. We're hoping we get to see them on TV! Good thing the parade is broadcast all day :)

Linda, I hope your dinner with KT is a bright spot in your day.

RFS -- I thought about cleaning today... but we'll probably just hang out or go to the beach for a bit.

Fran, your menu today sounds yummy!

Andy, stay safe of the roads today.

Jen, have fun with the sled :D

LDM, Thai sounds GREAT! I'm so sick of leftovers and cooking. Maybe I can get husband to take us all out tonight, too.

Toto -- sounds like the kittehs came down for a drink in your pool! Bob cat scat (poop) might keep the rodents away... just a thought!

WO, we did the movie marathon thing too. It's tradition!

Compassion, glad things are going so well for so long with your difficult child. Hope she has a great ski trip!

Have a wonderful day everyone!
