Something I Found I Needed Today.

Other people’s crises are not less important than mine are. They’re just different! I need to have compassion and speak with respect and care even when I judge their problems to be less serious than mine.

I certainly didn't mean to discount the importance of seeking out and finding positivity and perspective. But, sometimes I listen to ranting about the same thing over and over again from my friends without any forward progress for the person doing the ranting. I listen sincerely and just say: "They are alive; there is hope." In my personal case, they know that's true because my son isn't, so they know what I'm saying is true. I look at my grandson and his increasing problems and I'm literally scared to death for him. I rant, I complain, and I try to follow my own advice. Some days I can, some days I can't.
