Insurance question - Update

Thanks, Calamity Jane and Nancy!

difficult child is doing okay, I think. He is on medical leave from the out-of-state college where he started his freshman year, last fall. In order to return there, the college requires that he do two things: (1) complete rehab and (2) take (and pass!) two courses at a local college.

With one month of primary residential rehab followed by two months of extended residential rehab and another two months in an IOP here at home, difficult child has met the rehab requirement. (He is also seeing a therapist twice a week for other issues, and going to Marijuana Anonymous meetings fairly often.)

He is taking two courses at a local college, and enjoying the classes. He has not missed one class yet, which is a huge improvement over past behavior!

He did try to get a job, and that did not work out so well. He was hired at a Red Mango frozen yogurt place that was opening a new location near us, but the hiring was contingent on his performance during the training period. We thought he was doing fine, but apparently they over-hired (they did hire a slew of young people, for a very small, largely self-service, location), because he (and a bunch of the other trainees) were let go, by email, the morning of the official opening. Sigh. difficult child seemed to take it pretty well, but it had to hurt that he could not succeed at a fast-food job!

Anyway, he's focusing on classes and therapy. He is living at home, and that has been fine. (He's actually a nice kid to have around, most of the time!)

The next big decision: whether to send him back to the out-of-state college, or have him stay at home and continue at the college where he is taking the two classes now.

Oh Goldie what a GREAT update on both accounts. I'd say you are an official Warrior Mom! Love that you won appeal process and that your son is doing so well now.

Way to go,
hugs,
