I was searching online for some medication info on bipolar and came across this guide to medications for kids with bipolar. It seems really awesome! It was written by the AACAP (Amer Acad of Child and Adolescent psychiatrists) and the page that had the link states that there was NO funding/support for this book from any pharmaceutical group.
They have some great questions to help you talk to your child's doctor among other things. I didn't read all of it but that caught my eye.
This won't help all of us, but it is well done and a great resource. Maybe we can add the link to the reading guide and/or put a thread in the Archives?
