partial hospital programs / day programs?

Are these costs covered by the school district? It seems like this is what I heard the Special Education director of our new district say, but I wasn't sure.

Do they keep the kiddo during the summer months, too?

It depends.

When my son was in a partial hospitalization program, it was covered by our health insurance. The SD did not pay any part of it.

If an SD covered the educational portion of a partial hospitalization program, a student would need an Extended Year provision in his IEP to attend during the summer.
