Good Thursday Morning

Bingo began his lick fest early this morning. He is an odd little beastie, but we love him. He is back to patrolling the yard for squirrels. His "toys" were a couple of chipmunks that Rozzy helped him catch. She is very sharing in that way.

SO and I are planning to take the grandsons to the farm for Memorial Day weekend. It will be, as E says, a "benture." E is 8 and N is almost 10.

pasa, I hope you are on the mend more quickly this time. :getwell:

Good morning! I woke up to another day of possibilitys. I will probably get to go home sometime today if the antibiotics are tolerated. I miss my sanctuary.

I was planning on meeting with a new therapist today. My previous one no longer takes my ins. I hate when that happens.

Gaaaaaaa...ah.

:O)

Oh, those cats. Here is a strange thing. Our cat will bring a trophy in whenever we have company and leave it just outside the patio door.

She does this every time. (She also leaves her trophies there for us to find whenever she does hunt.) But when we have people over, she is certain to leave a trophy immediately in front of the door.

I don't know what she is telling everyone, but I am sure she is communicating something important to her.

The parts missing from the trophy change.

Cats are terminally cool.

I will hold that intention for you too, pasa.

Update on the garden: The plants do not seem to have been killed altogether. There are places where the individual stalks have shriveled, but it seems that the plants themselves may make it.

We realized we will not be able to replant until next year, because the soil will carry that poison meant for weeds.

Both the Weed & Feed and the fertilizer were in plastic bags of about the same size, and were stored near one another with the gardening supplies. I wore sunglasses, and did not wear my glasses. That is how simply this terrible mistake was made.

If there is anything to be learned from this, or from my going on and on about it here (sorry, guys), it is for each of us to take just that one extra moment, however sure we are that we know what we are doing, to be certain.

Wishing each of us a beautiful day.

Rain, rain go away.

Going to work at my program job, but was hired to work elsewhere as a real employee. Glad but terrified! That starts June 8.

Have a super day!!!

Good morning, everyone.

Another big busy day for me - an appointment with a retina specialist as a follow-up (I have the beginnings of macular degeneration) and a CT scan as a follow-up to some nodules that were found on my lungs last October. Fun times.

It's the last day of my Buddhism course, and I need to catch up. I think the Islam course starts on Tuesday.

Perfect weather again, high 70's. The cats are sunning themselves in the catio.

Have a great day!

Morning all! Just another day at the office. I'm getting my hair cut this afternoon. I can't wait! I haven't had it cut since last October! I'm thinking a bob with bangs, ala Jurassic World.

Fingers crossed!!! :likeit: Why don't we have a "get well soon" smilie?

Feel lucky. For the longest time my little boy dog, every single time my friend came over - which was weekly to watch Supernatural with me - would poop in the kitchen floor. Always when I wasn't looking...and she, what a trooper, would simply clean it up without comment.

Now that's a friend. LOL

Have a great day!

I have worked on my front flower beds. A couple days ago I finished getting the annual flowers I had bought planted. Today I put five bags of mulch on the beds. Just doing that made the front of the house look so much better.

Today and tomorrow are clean the house days. On Saturday we head 200 miles away to pick up DFES (dear foreign exchange student) and his wife. He spent a year with us over 20 years ago. A year or so later we took a 4 week trip to Europe and saw 5 of our previous students. The last DFES we hosted turns 21 today. I feel bad, as older Difficult Child just started 8th grade that year, and that is when her mood swings got worse... Plus, she never wanted to include little sis when DFES was home. On the rare times that Difficult Child was gone, DFES and little sis got along and enjoyed being together. Now that Difficult Child had moved in with my DS (was her step dad before we adopted) husband said maybe we could consider having one more when little sis is a senior, one more school year, if this summer, when we host an Irish teen for a month, goes well.

husband had a consult with a neurosurgeon for his back, but only conservative treatments are suggested for now. He has 3 discs in lower back that are bulging... We are now waiting for epidural injections to be scheduled.

Need to shop today for our guests. I will buy a case of bottled water for them...I don't usually buy that for us, even though I recycle all that I can I just don't like the idea of all the plastic. I also want to buy some fresh fruits, deli type meat, cheese and crackers to put in the cooler. On the long drive home, we plan to stop of a national park for a short break and a picnic, it is a tall grass prairie preserve in the flint hills of KS. Not a lot to see or do, but the vastness and rolling hills have their own beauty.

I was released from the hospital with a picture line and the pharmacy will deliver the infusion medications. shortly. I am not allowed to leave the house until after my next appointment. I am ok with that.

My roomie was just lovely and lives very close to my subdivision. She was just diagnosed with M.S. She has the most positive spirit. Neither one of us could sleep last night so we stayed up talking until 4 a.m. this morning. We convinced staff to let us order pizza and salads since we both missed lunch and dinner. We were on a very short hall all by ourselves. We had so much fun. The nurses came in and out and would join in on our silliness. When life hands you hard times.....laugh. I must remember to do that more often.

Just brushing up on chronic care management skills and figuring out the best route to go about this since husband has just been diagnosed with diabetes. Still, it's a good day today and I know we can get through this together...:sunny:
