GRANDMA!!!'Bout time! My daughter called me this afternoon and they're just thrilled! She's only a few weeks along, but she's finally officially PREGNANT! She'll be 33 next month. They've been married four and a half years and have been "trying" for over three years and had seen a fertility specialist. She had surgery a few months ago to remove scar tissue and adhesions from the ovarian cysts she had as a teenager, and they found endometriosis which they removed also. She was supposed to go back and start some sort of drug therapy but she got pregnant before her appointment! I've been dancing around my living room all evening!
The sad part is that sister in law's mom was killed in that accident last month. And the thing she most wanted in this world was for these two to make her a grandma! So sad. And my daughter believes that she probably got pregnant right after her mother in law was killed - that's almost spooky! They don't have much to do with sister in law's dad and my ex- is pretty much the invisible man - by popular request. So I will be the only real grandparent this baby has - I'm in Tennessee and they're in South Carolina so I won't see them often. Thankfully, sister in law has a wonderful, large extended family to take up the slack.
So please hold good thoughts for them that all goes well. It's still very early and we're all a little nervous. So ... can I join your "Grandmas Club" now?
