Heard from him earlier today from an unknown number-turned out to be from a psychiatric hospital about an hour from where he usually hangs out.
He couldn't remember the last couple of days and was very emotional, very foggy and confused but glad to be safe and fed.He lost all his things yet again, the great backpack, the warm sleeping bag, the IDs, etc.
He is being kept there for a few days but thinks that they'll keep him there longer-he is going to ask for something long term residential, as the doctor said he is not in good shape. I pray to God that they don't just put him back out on the streets, but I have no way of knowing what they can do.
He did say to me on Monday, during the weird conversation, that he wasn't sure how much longer he could keep it together. I think he fell apart.
But for now, he is safe and is with people who want good things for him. That's all any of us has and I will take that. Gratefully.
