my question is...what exactly does this do for my child? The thing is my son has had IEP's since preschool where we sit and have meetings and go over a bunch of things(our cares and concerns) and goals for the upcoming year. BUT... he is still performing below grade level, doesnt do ANY work and gets all F's and D's on his report card but gets moved up anyways. he has been tested and has some form of learning disabilities but nothing is helping. yes he does have resource where he is pulled out of class for i think 30-45 minutes each day for resource help. he is getting to the point where he doesnt like school at all, he wont ask for help and if he doesnt get it, he gets frustrated very easily, then gets angry then refuses to even try. just kinda gives up and shuts down. im not seeing any improvements. it seems to me because of the IEP, they just let him slide by and since he justs sits quietly at his desk, he isnt a problem. he was held back in kindergarten due to speech problems and poor academic standing. also had some behavior issues at the time. he is now in the fifth grade(supposed to be in 6th) and working at a 3rd-4th grade level. any suggestions? is there anymore the school can do or is rewuired to do that i am missing or dont know about? not sure what else to do. i want him to succeed.
