Trying to find an article on it. I heard about it from a friend that's a psychiatric nurse in a long-term care facility and said it's pretty routine in a lot of cases to have to tweak the dosage down a bit in spring (not just allergies but also that coming-out-of-winter mood jump). Might be for the more regular cyclers and not the ultra-rapid cycles that kids often do.

I can hear his brain flying with everything from laws of universe to the latest manga garbage. I wonder if a dose increase is in order even if he is not getting in trouble in school....

Forgive me if I don't recall his complete history, but is there a reason he's not also taking a mood stabilizer like Depakote? It is frequently rx'd to address manic symptoms like you're describing (flight of ideas, racing thoughts, etc.)
