The Wonderful Thing about Tigger!!!

I had Tigger's IEP today. I wish I had recorded the meeting. I would love to play it back over and over again. It was awesome :)

Tigger has made huge progress this year in all areas -- behaviorally, speech, academics, social skills.

He will be placed in the jr high ES classroom for 73% of his day (this year it was 82% of his day). He will do lunch and gym with the reg ed kids and he will go to the Learning Disability (LD)-Math class. Getting him into the Learning Disability (LD)-Math class was HUGE. All of the other kids in the class are mainstreamed 50% or more of their day. It is still 'Special Education' but it is a larger group of peers and he will get to 'change classes like a regular kid'.

With just two years before high school, I have hope that he will make it to Level 4 of Special Education! Level 4 sped classes "count" as college-prep classes. While I don't want to get my hopes up too high, he does seem to be (finally) on the right track :) :) :)
