It is a concept that I know very little about and would like to learn more. Has anyone participated in this type of service, what can you share about it?

What Is Telepsychiatry?

Telepsychiatry is the use of secure interactive video technology so that a clinician in one site can have a session with a client in another site. By using cameras and monitors, both parties can see and hear each other. It is a technology that is in use in several states

Areas where people are spread apart, transportation is challenging and specialis Tourette's Syndrome such as child psychiatris Tourette's Syndrome are in short supply, this technology has the potential to bring access to services that wouldn't otherwise be available. A child. theoretically, instead of having to be picked up at school, transported to a psychiatrist appointment, and transported back, losing considerable school time in the process, could leave class, walk down the hall to a school based clinic, see a child psychiatrist and return to class in less than an hour.

No real answers to life..
Sounds good IF you could find a competant psychiatrist who would participate. I would think many would want to judge the child's reactions, movements, etc. that might be more difficult to perceive thru a camera....

You would also be at the mercy of technical "glitches" that may delay or upset things. Could be good...could be bad.....So how's that for strattling the fence?
