We're considering fighting to get our difficult child an evaluation, but alot of our behavioral stuff to help him socially is working, we're seeing improvement, but he's still at home with very consistent/immediate feedback and consequences. difficult child is starting Preschool in a few weeks. Should I see how he does there before getting an evaluation? What will it entail? Will he be labeled for life? Just not sure what direction to go in right now. Seems like everytime I start freaking out about social issues, he makes great gains and acts appropriately....mainly our concerns have moved away from Aspie and more towards CD...aggressive to me and kids, (hits me and kicks me when told no or when can't have what he wants....documentaries!!) excessive rule breaking, explosive, etc. But socially making gains very quickly! Never know what to do....family not being real supportive either...
