Good Wednesday morning, my friends.

Sipping on my hmj & planning my day. Not much going on - kt has a blood draw this afternoon; the pediatrician doctor appointment has been rescheduled as she called last night to check in on kt's status before kt hit the door & wanted to know about the growth on kt's forehead. We're going to a pediatric dermatologist instead & rescheduling her complete physical for after the Mayo Clinic date. I was thankful Dr. P called last night. Makes life much easier.

I spent yesterday napping & cleaning; you know, a little of this, a little of that.

It's a warmer day today - most likely the warmest of the week before the temps plummet again - supposed to be 20 below by this weekend. I need to run out for my license tabs & will stock up on anything needed then. No big outings this weekend.

kt went to bed with some stomach bug last night - husband is fighting this horrendous cold. I expect them both home & in pj's today. I also expect husband will be working in his pj's while I believe kt will sleep this off. She seems genuinely ill today.

I hope your Wednesday is warm & filled with calm - that your difficult children how respect to you & for themselves. :painter:

Morning

Linda - Hope those sick ones are feeling better soon. Everyone miserable is never good.

Sharon - funny that difficult child was counting to the weekend. Hope that you get everything done you planned to.

I ended up going to work for my couple of hours yesterday and ended up skipping everything else planned for the day. Just didn't feel well. Today I work this morning and then genealogy society tonight. Hopefully being up and about won't make me feel icky today. I would like to accomplish something one of these days.

Hope everyone else has a good day.

G'day, folks.

Linda, I hope kt is better soon. I hope you can enjoy the warmer weather and get things done while you can.

LDM/Sharon, kids are funny. If they weren't, I guess it would all me much harder to take.

Beth, I hope you feel better soon. You're into genealogy - do you use a good software package? husband has been mapping our family tree for some time, he's merged his data with other geneaologists in the family. It can be very interesting.

I had planned a restful day today but it got a bit busy. easy child 2/difficult child 2 was stressing about her college re-enrolment forms (due in the post by tomorrow) and didn't know how to fill them in. I looked at them last night and said we'd make some phone calls - she needed to get info from her disabilities counsellor. But the counsellors won't be back at work until late January, so I took the easy way out - I suggested we drive out to the college (its 20 minutes away by car, on the highway) and I'm so glad I did. There was a series of problems all surrounding her renewal, having the office staff there to help sort it saved us a lot of time and effort.
We got a lot of other tasks done too - got prescriptions filled at the pharmacy, lodged our recent specialists' bills with the insurance while we waited at the pharmacy, then dropped in to the mechanic to see how BF2's car repairs are going. By this time the hot sunny sky was beginning to cloud; we could see the massive thunderheads forming in the south and heading our way. The forecast had been for the front to hit us after lunch with gale-force winds and torrential rain.
So back home I grabbed difficult child 3, said, "Grab your swimming gear fast, time to swim is NOW!" and we were back out that door in five minutes.
As it turned out, we got a good swim session in and were back home for another couple of hours before the weather turned bad. The TV news was reporting flash floods and hailstorms all round Sydney; not a drop at our place. Branches were blowing off the trees, we couldn't hear ourselves think outside. My beach towel went missing, I was ready to search the neighbourhood, but difficult child 3 had brought it in to rescue it (darling boy).

Tomorrow the day will be cooler - 22C, they said. The water temp is 23C. I've got my house cleaning in the morning, then I'm off with difficult child 3 to visit a friend nearby. Don't know if I'll get to swim - the visit is a pretext for her to use my super-vision to check her kids for nits (current epidemic). Being extremely short-sighted, when I take my glasses off I have really good super-vision, like I'm wearing magnifying lenses.

We're in for a week of this weird, wet weather. it really does seem like monsoon, except that the rain often doesn't turn up when forecast. Weird, wet and warm with lots of UV still getting through and turning my skin dark brown, like chocolate milk. difficult child 3 is tanning a bit too. We do our best to avoid sunburn, haven't done too badly so far. With our darker skin, it takes a bit more exposure than fair-skinned people, to get the Vitamin D we need. easy child 2/difficult child 2 is very fair, she's got Type 1 skin. I've got Type 4. Out in the sun, I strip to swimsuit, she virtually wears a burkah. I don't think my skin was ever as pale as hers. Hers will never be as dark as mine. But we have the same eyes.

Life is interesting.

Enjoy your Wednesday.

Good morning to you also. I am expecting good things today (can't really allow myself to think any other way). We have a meeting at my stepson's school (parents, case worker, principals) to contact Youth Protection again to get him accepted into their CD program. If successful, he will finally undergo a reassessment (physical, psy, etc) to attempt to diagnose whatever else he might have besides ODD/CD/ADHD, get appropriate medications, undergo behaviour therapy and be placed in a special school that will address his needs. We cannot afford to wait for the private system to catch up with him or he'll self-destruct (or hurt another family member). I shocked everyone yesterday by telling the group that his schooling is last on my list for him right now (he's already failed two grades - is 15.5 yrs in Grade 8) but rather we need to get him to a better place in his head so all else will fall into place. Keep your fingers crossed... because if this doesn't work I don't know what else we can do right now.

Good Morning Everyone :coffee:,

I have another busy morning and once again, don't have time to address each of you individually. Unfortunately I'm off to a late start. At least, I have had lots of :coffee:!!!

I hope all of you who are sick, feel better ASAP!!! :flower:

As always, I hope everyone has at least one reason to laugh or at least smile today... :flower: WFEN

P.S. :hawaii_girl: /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/beach_ball.gif :beach: :swimming:

PLEASE THINK WARM AND SUNNY THOUGHTS!!! It's too cold here!!! :cold:

Good morning ya'll. Things appear to have improved now that the new medication is finally in difficult child's blood stream. He made it through school yesterday (first day in three days since the medication change). He got up and was cooperative this morning although very slow.

I'm off to work later for a couple of meetings
then back to the house with kids, homework, and activities.

Ya'll have a great meltdown free day.

Good Morning All.

Cold here too. :cold: A whole 19 degrees.

Hope all that are sick get better soon.

I get to stay home where it is warm today. Have meeting with case manager this afternoon to get ready for new IEP meeting tomorrow. New diagnosis, new ball game.

My chocolate coffee will have to sustain me. :coffee:

Hope all have a good(or at least better) day.

Good morning, everyone.

I am ready for Spring. This cold is creeping into my bones and it hurts.

difficult child is really sick, but refuses to take care of herself.

H is, in my opinion, battling depression but refuses to see his DR. Instead he's popping vitamins, giving up coffee, and sleeping a lot. I hate this time of year with him.

I am feeling pretty good, though worrying about my mom.

Have a good one.

Good morning everyone. Sorry that I have to run but wanted to say "hi" :good_morning:

difficult child handled change of address with SSI and got his prescriptions with new cards and pharmacy. In addition, he picked up that they gave him one prescription that wasn't meant for him. Yay! It's big for him to pick up stuff like that. It could have been dangerous.
He was getting frustrated but I talked to him. He was mad at the pharmacist for making an error but I reminded him how it feels when he messes up and how you never mean to do it. Empathy, my dear child, empathy.
He goes back today to have the error corrected. I'm pleased he handled all the rigamarole that goes with setting up a new residence. One small step for difficult child. One very large step for mom not having to handle it.

Have a terrific day.
