Fran... you're right about ability vs. success.
I know a family where one kid is mensa-level... and a washout.
And they have a second kid who is totally average - survived HS, couldn't do college - and is now RICH (through honest hard work, a few lucky breaks, and some good advice...)
Interestingly... I'd still rather talk to the mensa washout than the rich guy... I can stand failure but I can't stand arrogance!
